Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and rub together between the palms of your hands to distribute the flavorings and mix the coconut. Spread on a large baking sheet and place in the oven at its lowest setting overnight.

In the morning, let the sheet cool. Once you taste them you will start the addiction and say goodbye to any other breakfast plans . . . ’cause once you start, you’ll find it hard to stop.

Store leftovers in a gallon zippered bag from which you expel the air as much as possible, then place in the freezer. (This helps keep the crunch.)

Note from the Cookbook:
- While the overnight baking gives the best results with ultimate crunch and less chance of burning, these can also bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, as long as you stir often and watch that they don’t burn, then turn the oven down to 200°F, and crisp for 15 minutes to 1 hour, stirring from time to time.
