Kickin Dippin Sauce, Dip, or Dressing

SERENE CHATS: This is an addictive sauce that has so many uses in my home. I keep heaps of the creamy version in the fridge (quadruple amounts) and put it on our table for almost every meal. My spiceloving kids scarf it down. It amps up protein and is a great flavorful addition to the side of your plate no matter what meal you are eating. Dip some of your food into it and your whole meal starts kickin’! If your children are not as spice loving as mine, don’t use the habanero. Try a dried mild chili pepper. Instructions

  1. Blend all the ingredients with a stick blender (you can use a stand blender, but it’s way easier with the stick version). Done!

Note

Intro continued... The cottage cheese is completely optional here. It makes the sauce creamy, but I originally created this sauce without cottage cheese and it has so many uses that way, too. You can drizzle the non–cottage cheese version over meats and veggies before baking or swirl it over brown rice or smear it in any sandwich or wrap. It is even great over salad for a dressing! Everything tastes better with it. I also keep some of the original cottage-cheese-less version of this sauce in a squirt bottle in my fridge—do that and none of your meals will lack for flavor.

NOTE: Purists might like to add a little kefir or yogurt whey water (about 2 tablespoons) when making this sauce and leave the sauce out for an afternoon to let it ferment. This will inoculate
it with probiotics and not only rev up the health offering it brings but also enable a longer refrigerator life.
