When your tummy is all in knots you need to give it a minty hug. Mint calms and soothes an agitated gut. But hey . . . even if your gut feels fine, this tastes delish and has great slimming powers. (While this recipe does have okra, it wants to hang out here in the Gut-Healing section.) This recipe is found in the “Gut Healing Shakes & Smoothies” section of the Trim Healthy Table Cookbook, page 486.

Ingredients
Instructions
-
Put the gelatin in the boiled water and stir until dissolved. Add the tea bag(s) and brew for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag(s), squeezing them, then add the oil.
-
Pour the tea mixture into a blender. Add the kefir, okra, spinach, lecithin, collagen, salt, sweetener, and mint extract (if using). Blend like a superhero so all the okra and spinach are totally smooth. Add the ice and blend again until it is broken down. Add the whey and whip it all until smooth. Taste and adjust the flavors to “own it.”
Note
Low-fat homemade kefir will keep this smoothie in FP mode because only ½ cup is used (in full cup amounts, we consider store-bought, nonfat kefir E). Consider your smoothie an S if you use full-fat kefir (yummy). If you don’t have kefir or are dairy-free, use water or unsweetened nut milk.
