This version of the Crispy Addictions is not only great to munch on by itself, but also fabulous on salads and to top fried eggs. These do not taste very coconutty; more like a savory potato chip that you just can’t get enough of. Make the same way as in the master recipe, except omit the cinnamon and add the listed spices. This recipe is a multiple-serve recipe. Savory Crispy Addictions is found in the “All Things Smooth and Crunchy – Crackers, Chips, and Dips” section of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook, page 459.
Savory Crispy Addictions (S)
Description
This version of the Crispy Addictions is not only great to munch on by itself, but also fabulous on salads and to top fried eggs. These do not taste very coconutty; more like a savory potato chip that you just can’t get enough of. Make the same way as in the master recipe, except omit the cinnamon and add the listed spices. This recipe is a multiple-serve recipe. Savory Crispy Addictions is found in the "All Things Smooth and Crunchy - Crackers, Chips, and Dips" section of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook, page 459.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and rub together between the palms of your hands to distribute the flavorings and mix the coconut. Spread on a large baking sheet and place in the oven at its lowest setting overnight.
- In the morning, let the sheet cool. Once you taste them you will start the addiction and say goodbye to any other breakfast plans . . . ’cause once you start, you’ll find it hard to stop.
- Store leftovers in a gallon zippered bag from which you expel the air as much as possible, then place in the freezer. (This helps keep the crunch.)
Note
Recipe Notes
Note from the Cookbook:
- While the overnight baking gives the best results with ultimate crunch and less chance of burning, these can also bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, as long as you stir often and watch that they don’t burn, then turn the oven down to 200°F, and crisp for 15 minutes to 1 hour, stirring from time to time.
