Ingredients
Instructions
-
If you do not already have cooked ground meat ready, brown ground meat of choice and set aside (brown enough so you can use leftovers for other quick meals). Spice it with a few dashes of the following spices: cumin, hot sauce, mineral salt, nutritional yeast, and onion and garlic powders.
-
Pour the hot water into a blender. Add the miso, coconut oil, collagen, and all the seasonings except the parsley. Blend until it’s a creamy puree.
-
Transfer the puree to a small saucepan. Add the cabbage (or noodles) and meat, and bring the soup to a simmer over medium-low heat. Add the parsley and serve.
Note
From page 115, Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook:
"Nourish both your body and mind with this deeply soothing soup. The ingredients in this recipe fortify your liver which is so important while your body is in weight loss mode. Allergen Free and purist Mamas will love this soup for its superfood qualities and for the magic of collagen and coconut oil creaming this up without the need for any dairy. But don’t overlook this recipe if you are a Drive Thru Sue… this is about as easy as it gets. If you do not like venison or cannot afford grass fed beef, don’t shy away from making this. Use any ol’ ground meat you have because the other ingredients in this soup still push it into superstar healthy mode.
Miso is a traditional Asian fermented food, it has an incredible savory taste and is packed with nutrients. You can find it easily at any health food store, online or at international grocery stores. Even though miso comes from the soy bean, don’t confuse it with unfermented or unsprouted soy, which we are not too keen on, but we heartily endorse the use of this fermented food in your diet."
Serene often adds a swirl of raw cream at the end to push this into S territory or tops it with some raw, grated Pecorino sheep’s cheese."
