Thin Thicks are not as large as the Fat-Stripping Frappas or the Big Boys (they make a manageable pint), but, man, oh man, are they thick! Like turn-your-glass-upside-down thick! Thin Thicks are not as large as the Fat-Stripping Frappas or the Big Boys (they make a manageable pint), but, man, oh man, are they thick! Like turn-your-glass-upside-down thick! These thickies make an awesome snack, but they’re not large enough for a meal replacement unless you’re in the mood for a very light meal. Have them alongside a sandwich or salad for lunch. Or, enjoy as a filling dessert after dinner. You won’t come away hungry until it is wisely time to eat again, and your body will be flooded with superfood nutrition. This recipe is a single-serve recipe that makes about 1 pint. Instructions

  1. Use all the same ingredients as in the master recipe except omit the cocoa and add 1 teaspoon matcha powder.
  2. Place the water, okra, and lecithin in a blender.
  3. Soften the gelatin in the cool water in a cup. Stir, then add the hot water and stir well again to dissolve the gelatin.
  4. Add the dissolved gelatin to the blender, followed by the Gluccie. Blend very well, until the okra is pureed. Add all the remaining ingredients except the ice and whey protein, and blend some more. Stop blending, then add the ice gradually and blend until smooth.
  5. Add the whey protein and blend for 10 seconds only.
  6. Put the mixture into a pint jar with a straw, and slurp this thick creaminess to the last satisfying drop. Cheers to your health!

CONCERNING THIN THICKS, page 422 of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook:
"We’re introducing our latest trimming drinks! We’ve been enjoying these for several months now, and we want you to join in on the fun. These “thickies” will thin you down and nourish you  up, with their key fat-kicking and health-promoting ingredients. We have a new mantra: “Let your shake be thick, not your waistline!”

Or enjoy as a filling dessert after dinner.  You won’t come away hungry until it is wisely time to eat again, and your body will be flooded with superfood nutrition.

Yes, these drinks do use a few special ingredients that are not optional, so you don’t have to try them right out of the gate if you are a newbie THM, but many of our seasoned Trim Healthy Mamas will want to dive deep into these babies! Okra and Gluccie are like quicksand to rising blood sugar. Putting them together as a dynamic duo in one recipe is a double whammykabammy to out-of-control blood sugar levels. They also satiate hunger pangs and cleanse your digestive system.  Whey is a fat stripper and the glycine in the collagen is one of the most intense glucagon triggers, which is the hormone that releases fat from storage.

The high antioxidant levels in cocoa used in the Chocolicious Thin Thick help your body use its insulin more efficiently to control blood sugar.  Cocoa consumption has been shown to lower diabetes risk by 31 percent. The mint used in the Mintylicious Thin Thick also helps lower elevated blood sugar levels and soothes gas and bloating, which makes you feel thinner—woot!  The addition of spinach in that version is not just for color; it also aids weight loss through its green leaf membranes called thylakoids, which have been shown in research to boost the production of satiety hormones. Foods rich in antioxidants, like the raspberries in the Berrylicious Thin Thick, are linked with weight loss, while the ketones in raspberries help rid the body of deep abdominal fat, called visceral fat, along with overall adipose tissue.  The Matchalicious Thin Thick is a weight-kicking powerhouse.  One serving of matcha powder is 137 times more potent in metabolism and disease-fighting polyphenols, called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), than a regular brewed cup of green tea!  New studies reveal EGCG’s promising ability to help prevent the growth of new fat cells. Don’t miss the reasons we want you to drink the BBBB Thin Thick at the end of this section. They needed their own space."
