Description
This recipe is found in the "Oven-Baked or Roasted Meats" section of our Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook. This is a family-size recipe that will serve 6 to 8 people.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
-
Place the chicken wings in two or three 9 × 13-inch baking pans. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
-
Pour the melted butter into a bowl and add the hot sauce. Mix well. (If you want more heat, add several shakes of cayenne pepper to the butter/sauce mix.)
-
Pour the sauce over the chicken and bake for 1 hour. Broil the tops of the wings until crispy at the ends.
Note
IP Modifications...
Lots of frozen wings (nearly filling my Instant Pot), high pressure for 15 minutes, instant release, chicken setting, with 1/3 cup melted butter, 2/3 cup Franks hot sauce and no added water as the wings were frozen which would add additional water. After removing them from the pot, I broiled about 5 minutes on each side, then dipped them in the sauce I reduced after pressure cooking. You can reduce the sauce in the Instant Pot on "saute". Shut your IP off, then hit "saute", and boil while wings are in the oven.

NOTE: This recipe was created and tested using a 6-quart Instant Pot. If you are using a different brand or different size electric pressure cooker, consider modifying the recipe as your results may vary from ours. Example: If you are using an 8-quart, consider adding more liquid as the larger circumference often needs more liquid to come to pressure.
