Description

If you love the Tummy Tucking Ice Cream (page 363), then you will definitely fall in love with the Tummy Spa. It tastes every bit as divine, but our “don’t tell” ingredient in this version helps moisturize, soothe, and bring anti-inflammatory benefits to your tummy as an extra perk. Tummy Spa Ice Cream is found in the "Sweet Treats - Frozen Treats" section of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook, page 361. This recipe is a multiple-serve recipe that makes 2 very large or 3 medium servings. You can halve the ingredients for a single-serve option.

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth. Pour into ice cube trays. Place in the freezer to harden.
  2. When ready for your ice cream, put the bowl you want to eat it from in the freezer to chill
  3. Process the cubes in a food processor until powdery snow forms. (You can use a high-end blender, but if your blender gives you some trouble, let the cubes thaw for 5 minutes, then continue.) Turn off the processor and, with a spatula, push down any of the mixture that has risen up the sides. Add a little unsweetened almond milk for FP or heavy cream or canned coconut milk for S. Blend to incorporate into the icy mix and turn it creamy. Process until smooth, then taste and adjust the flavors to “own it.”

Note

From page 361 of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook...

You have the option to add a scoop of collagen or ½ scoop of whey as you do the final blending. If you desire additional tummy spa therapy, and also to make this ice cream less icy, incorporate 1½ teaspoons gelatin dissolved in 1 tablespoon of the almond milk and 1 tablespoon hot water. Add this to the blender with all the other ingredients and proceed with the blending.
