Such a simple, fabulous, protein-rich snack or breakfast is Greek yogurt. (Don’t worry, dairy-sensitive peeps; we have a solution for you coming up that will have you cheering!) The good news is that some yogurt companies are wising up and creating stevia-sweetened Greek yogurt options. Sweetening and flavoring your plain yogurt at home, though, is cheaper and you can make it exactly how sweet you like it (also, store-bought sweetened versions often include inulin (chicory root), which while on plan can make some of us gassy—oh no!). Enjoy up to 1 cup of Greek yogurt as a FP for a full breakfast or snack, and keep to ½ cup if eating it as a dessert after a meal or if you already have another protein source in your meal. This recipe is found in the “Sweet Treats – Sweet Bowls” section of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook, page 340. This recipe is a single-serve recipe.

Recipe Notes

From page 340 of the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook:
"Since Gentle Sweet is already ground, it is a first choice for many of our Mamas when it comes to sweetening up their yogurt, so it is what we have listed here. You can just try a doonk or two of Pure Stevia Extract instead for an ultrabudget-friendly version (small amounts of ground Super Sweet Blend can work, too). This recipe is the basic one, into which you can swirl any flavors or additions your heart desires. There’s vanilla for sure, but try strawberry or raspberry extract if you are including berries."

Greekie Swirl Options:

  • 1 teaspoon natural-style, sugar-free peanut butter (can use more peanut butter for S mode) or...
  • 1 tablespoon Pressed Peanut Flour
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon all-fruit jelly (or, can use more than a tsp if using Slim Belly Jelly)
  • ÂĽ to ½ cup berries
  • Cinnamon Crispy Addictions (page 458)
  • Diced apple, peach, or mango (for E mode)
  • Handy Chocolate Syrup (page 479)
  • 1 tablespoon Sunflower Lecithin
