Trim Healthy Mama and the crockpot work wonderfully together. This meal is so crazy, stupid, easy that it’s ridiculous! The meatballs hold together perfectly in the sauce without any fuss of having to pre-mix them with eggs or flour. If you’ve got picky little ones who need a night off from having to eat their onions, they’ll be in kid heaven with this recipe!

Ridiculous Meatballs and Spaghetti

Description

Trim Healthy Mama and the crockpot work wonderfully together. This meal is so crazy, stupid, easy that it's ridiculous! The meatballs hold together perfectly in the sauce without any fuss of having to pre-mix them with eggs or flour. If you've got picky little ones who need a night off from having to eat their onions, they'll be in kid heaven with this recipe!

Ingredients

Cooking Mode Disabled

Instructions

  1. Break off small hunks of ground sausage and press into meatballs (you may have to cut through casing if using link sausage). Place each ball carefully in the cooker. You can layer them if your cooker is small.
  2. Blend all the other ingredients except 1 can of diced tomatoes and the Not Naughty Noodles (if using). Pour the sauce over the meatballs, then add the remaining can of tomatoes. If deciding to use Not Naughty Noodles, rinse and drain noodles, snip smaller, then place over the sauce.
  3. Cook on low heat all day or on high heat for 5 to 6 hours.

Note

This could easily be a Fuel Pull if you use ultra-lean turkey sausage and keep your meat portion to 3 - 4 oz. We are only classifying this as an S here to give you the option of any type of sausage and because this dish is divine topped with grated cheese. However, topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan will still leave you in FP mode; if you’d rather keep this meal a lighter option.

FOR FREEZER-TO-CROCK PREP: Here’s a recipe that can all go in one large freezer bag. Label the bag with a Sharpie. Break off small pieces of sausage (you may have to cut through casing if using link sausage) and roll into meatballs. Place all the meatballs in a large freezer bag. Blend all the ingredients except one can of tomatoes. Pour the sauce into that same freezer bag, add 1 can of tomatoes, and put the bag in the freezer. The morning before cooking (24 hours prior), put the bag in the refrigerator to thaw. Next morning, pour the contents of the bag in the crockpot. Then add Not Naughty Noodles (if using).
