Lisa Lee:

I am so excited to share my story! My name is Lisa Lee and I have been a Trim Healthy Mama for two years. My struggle with food and sugar addiction, along with body image problems, began as a young lady. I have tried everything from calorie counting/Paleo/Weight Watchers and have found there is nothing like THM. So much food freedom!

My last weight loss came with doing a low carb diet. I would add good carbs here and there and felt so much better after doing that. What I did not know then was that I was incorporating a lot of THM principles without even knowing it. After losing 35 pounds, I began to pray to the Lord about how to maintain my weight. Everyone knows that the most difficult part of weight loss is maintaining that loss. I do not actually know for sure how I stumbled upon THM, but I immediately bought the book and immersed myself. I instantly became a member on Trim Healthy Membership Site and have actually watched every single video in the THM TV area! Much to my surprise I lost another 5-7 pounds without even trying.

I have been HAPPILY maintaining within my weight range for 2 years now!! This is no small victory for someone who has struggled her whole life! With the weight loss and cutting sugar out, my fibromyalgia has gotten so much better too.

My goal now is to help women who cross my path. I know the struggle and it can be debilitating! As a certified THM coach, I am excited about more opportunities to lead more women to freedom! If I had to pick one of my specialties, it would be to help beginners learn the ropes. Making them confident that trim is achievable is key to success! One thing that I believe helps immensely is prepping food or having quick things to eat ahead of time. I believe the statement “Failing to plan is planning to fail”. Items like rotisserie chicken, bagged spinach, cheese sticks and the like can really help a busy mama out.

My favorite easy S meal would be fettuccini alfredo over zucchini noodles with chicken. As written this recipe is a very indulgent, very satisfying Heavy S. It is a great recipe to try when you first start the plan and whenever you feel like you really want to bless yourself with a very creamy meal. It is also a crowd pleaser for men and growing children as they burn fuel faster than most of us women do. As you mature in the Trim Healthy Mama plan, you may want to try the Lighten It Up option at the end so you do not overdo the Heavy S part of the THM plan.

Lisa’s Amazing Alfredo (S)

Ingredients:

Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup butter
– 2 garlic minced
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1/2 cup shredded or freshly grated Parmesan cheese
– 3/4 cup shredded or grated mozzarella

Instructions:

1. Melt butter over low/medium heat.
2. Add garlic and cream, bring to a simmer, stir often.
3. Add Parmesan cheese and simmer 8 minutes until thick and smooth.
4. Add mozzarella – stir frequently until smooth.
Enjoy over chicken, zucchini noodles, or even broccoli! Over anything really!
Lighten It Up Option:
Replace 1 & 1/2 cups of the heavy cream for unsweetened almond or cashew milk. This may result in a thinner sauce so add a little Glucomannan (or xanthan gum). You will want to use about 1/2 – 3/4 teaspoon – a little at a time, sprinkling it in while whisking well. It will thicken up nicely.
