Trim Healthy Mama and the crockpot work wonderfully together. Whether you family knows the radishes used here are not real potatoes (full of starch) or whether you keep that a secret is up to you. We don’t say a thing about it in our homes, and nobody has ever complained. Once cooked, radishes lose their bite and they soften up beautifully in the crockpot. They look just like little red potatoes. No need to peel them, but it is best to cut the bigger ones in half.

Ingredients
Instructions
-
Put the meat in the crockpot and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the vegetables, then add enough water to just cover the ingredients. (It is okay if the top of the meat peeks through the water.)
-
Cook on high heat all day.
-
For later: Thirty minutes before serving, scoop out the veggies and lift out the meat, and transfer temporarily to a large bowl. Ladle or pour out some of the liquid so you are left with roughly 3 cups in the crockpot.
-
Add the 1½ teaspoons salt, onion powder, ½ teaspoon pepper, Nutritional Yeast, and liquid aminos (if using) to the liquid, then whisk a little Gluccie in slowly from a shaker; stop just before the gravy is as thick as you would like it.
-
Return the meat to the gravy and break into smaller pieces but don’t shred it. Return the veggies to the cooker as well, and let everything sit in the gravy for 15 to 30 more minutes
-
Taste and adjust the seasonings, adding the cayenne to suit.Note: It is common to need more salt, liquid aminos, or pepper because the Gluccie can mask the flavors a little bit.
