Michelin Star Popcorn ~ Large Version

Servings: 6
Why is this called “Michelin Star Popcorn”? Let me set the scene. Christmas time . . . a couple years ago . . . I was invited over for a girls’ movie night at my Aunty Pearl’s house with my best friend/ cousin Meadow and her sister Autumn. I made a big bowl of this festive popcorn for all of us to have while we watched The One Hundred Foot Journey. If you have not seen it. . . . please do . . . it’s all about the art of cooking (the quest for a Michelin Star) and it’s my favorite movie. Anyway, they all loved the popcorn. Aunty Pearl kept blurting out during the film . . . “This is Michelin Star popcorn!” Haha. I was actually going to name this “Stocking Stuffer Popcorn”, but Aunty Pearl wouldn’t allow it; she said it deserved the Michelin Star. (I got a text from her the next morning saying that she dreamed about the movie all night, and in her dream she made curry out of a big cockroach. Let’s hope she puts that recipe in her next cookbook, right?) This recipe is found on pages 310-311 of the Trim Healthy Future cookbook.

Description

Ingredients

Cooking Mode Disabled

Single Serving

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients, except the popcorn and coconut oil, to a small bowl. Stir until the mixture is even and no lumps remain.
  2. Put popcorn in another very large bowl. Pour coconut oil over the popcorn, then add the dry mix. Mix it all up, so you have some chocolaty goodness coating each piece of popcorn. (You’ll most probably need to use your hands, but if you don’t want to get your hands covered in chocolate powder, use a clean paper or plastic bag to shake it all up in or wear some plastic gloves.)
  1. For the Single Serving: Please follow the same instructions for the large version.

Note

Note from Rashida:

If you want to upgrade to get another “Michelin Star” you could always add either ½–¾ cup stevia-sweetened chocolate chips, chopped 85% dark chocolate, chopped walnuts, or shredded coconut. If you so desire to take this extra step to get this extra star, make sure you add the chocolate before the coconut oil so it will stick to the popcorn and not just end up at the bottom of the bowl.
