Blessed – that is what came to mind when I found out I would be one of the featured coaches in this edition of the EZine. So thankful to get to share my passion with others! I am so pleased to share with you! I have been a Trim Healthy Mama for over 5 years now and feel I have finally found the answer I have searched for my whole life to food freedom!
I am truly a THM for life. My journey has been one of ups and downs. It has not been the perfect testimony of instant weight loss and then years of maintenance. I wish I could say that, but it just is not my story.
When I came to THM I was coming from a lifetime of dieting and exercise. Battling my weight and feeling that I would be heavy, unhappy and fighting food for the rest of my life. It felt incredibly defeating. I had spent a year on a points type program, lost my weight and then my local meeting closed. Within 3 months guess what? I gained it all back. I was truly so frustrated and hopeless.
My girlfriends in my home school circle were all talking about this new diet – Trim Healthy Mama. Honestly, I was not at all interested. I had done it all..nothing works for long term. I had recently been given a gift card, decided I had pretty much nothing to lose, so I would buy the book, read it then I could resell it and get my money back when it did not work! LOL! SO, SO skeptical!! I bought the book….devoured that original book (my absolute favorite FYI), and jumped in with both feet. I lost the weight I had regained within 3 months and was wholly sold out that THM was for me! I felt then as I did now, I finally found the key to no longer fighting my weight and food everyday of my life!
Now that sure sounds like instant success right? It was. However, life sometimes throws hard balls at us and we have to deal with them. For the first year I really did maintain no problem, then came the hard ball. Illness struck my family. My mom nearly died and my husband became critically ill. I went into emergency mode…I did my best to stay on plan, in truth though, I did not even grocery shop for over 3 months. We just worked to survive.
However, through this I realized something incredible, I now had tools, very effective tools to help my mom with her diabetic crises and my husband as he underwent some intense treatments. They both came through and are doing well today! Their doctors were both so impressed how well they each handled their illness, and how incredible their nutritional support was during these seasons of illness!!
Today, I am currently working my way back down. Slowly but surely, I am getting there. The difference this time, I know what to do, I do not feel hopeless anymore. I have hope and know I will reach my goal again. I will be healthy and happy eating chocolate and losing weight.
While on THM, I have done so much more than lose weight, I have healed my system of adrenal fatigue, of some food sensitivities, and become a THM food blogger, THM Store owner as well as my newest adventure as a THM Coach!
It has been a great joy of my heart to share and encourage others on their THM journey! From allergy ladies to beginners on plan, I love helping them as a THM Admin, encouraging ladies online to in my personal time hosting local meetings and helping ladies get motivated and seeing results.
I have made the greatest friends on my THM journey, truly this is not just another fad diet, this is a whole lifestyle!
