Happy upcoming Mother’s Day and Happy Spring! We’re sitting here together looking out the window at the bright green leaves sprouting on the trees here in our Tennessee woods and breathing sighs of deep sweet peace and relief. You see, not long ago we gave birth to a huge 11 pound book baby. And yes…ouch… the delivery hurt. But the pain is blissfully over and our families have us back again. If you are wondering what on earth we mean by all this book baby stuff… that’s just what we affectionately called it between ourselves. It is actually our new cookbook, Trim Healthy Table, freshly sent off to the publisher (although we noticed Amazon already put it up for presale without a cover before we’d even finished it – the actual release date is not until September 5).
We had told ourselves this time around to keep the process simple, “Just make a small book this time girls,” we said to ourselves, “maybe 150 recipes… let’s not kill ourselves.” Perhaps we just don’t know how to do small. Over 300 new recipes later the joke is once again on us after an intense year long process of creating recipes. The last two months trying to meet the deadline were the craziest. We were often visiting each other by face time at 4.30 in the morning cooking like mad scientists with crazy bed hair and floppy jammies, going over steps to recipes when any civilized person should be getting their beauty sleep. But ahhh…. it is done and it is a doozy and we know you’re going to love it!
There is a new epidemic of obesity and Type 2 diabetes sweeping through families (including children) so in this book, we teach you how to naturally eat the THM way with your whole family (without getting obsessive, stressed or putting your kids on a diet of course). Trim Healthy Table will load you up with lots of tasty and easy, family friendly recipes that will be doable in your crazy life. We also included lots of single serve recipes along with breakfasts, lunches, snacks and sweet treats. Oh and you’re going to love this… a one chapter, Simple Start Guide is included for those new to the plan or as a refresher if you already know the plan but have had trouble understanding it in the past.

Speaking of whey protein… achem… clearing throats here. We did mention we’ve been insanely busy with the new book right? Things we normally make decisions about for THM… we simply did not have time to get to in the last few months. Our new yummy chocolate and strawberry whey proteins were released a couple months back (which we’d formulated last year) but we never checked the price!
The “guys” in our company priced them. Yikes! They looked at what other cross flow microfilted, pure flavored whey protein isolates were selling for and didn’t want to bother us about it during our crazy book writing season so just shoved that price on our website. Insanely high in our minds!
Now that we can breathe a little and have a few extra spare minutes, we had a meeting about this pricing and told them it is a “no go.” The “boy” price has to go. So please enjoy the new “mama priced” flavored whey proteins and since they were too high for our liking before we’re doing an even lower sale price for them for this Mother’s Day eZine. They are down from $27.99 (shudder) to a new regular price of $21.99 and now on sale for $19.99.
The guys might not be happy with the “bottom line” numbers but we’re much happier with the price and can sleep at night knowing they are more affordable for you now. Check out the great recipes using them in this ezine in the recipes section. Pristine Protein Mousse is awesome! Our kids’ favorite way to make chocolate or strawberry milk now is to blend half a scoop of whey to 1 cup milk (they use raw cow’s milk since they are growing) but this speedy chocolate milk is also excellent with unsweetened cashew or almond milk as a slimming FP to go with any meal for you. What happens if you eat an E or S lunch but still feel a bit empty at the end of it? Whip up chocolate or strawberry milk and you’ll get that extra filled up feeling you need to leave the table completely satisfied.
Thousands of you are now doing our Workins Exercise DVD’s. These are our recently released, fun workout routines that tone your whole body all while protecting and healing your female core. Best of all they are finished in just twenty minutes or less! Yeah baby… no slogging hour long workouts for us! Who has the time for that? And over exercising can actually be more harmful than helpful. With the Workins, you get to be our exercise buddies and join us in Serene’s messy living room where children aren’t excluded on set and we don’t wear midriffs thank Goodness!
Workins are designed to help issues such as Diastasis Recti over time (the split that can happen down the middle wall of your stomach muscles). But even if you are not dealing with challenging issues such as DR, Workins will help strengthen your pelvic floor and core in order to prevent such things from happening. “After the very first Workin my spine that had been hurting shifted (I have a spinal birth defect/fused lower vertebrae) and I felt relief. I slept like a baby. Now after several weeks of Workins as long as I do a Workin that day, I forget my back pain… cause it isn’t there! My lower stomach is starting to zip back up. My muffin top is less overflowing, lol.
At 47, this thrills me. And ever so slightly, but noticeable enough for me to see it…my bulky calves are elongating. My mind and body were depleted and defeated prior to THM. P.S. We are off to China in a couple of weeks! We have sent Serene’s husband and members of our THM team there several times in the past to keep up the important relationship with our stevia farmers who farm their acres of stevia as they have done for centuries but have never been there ourselves. Our stevia plants are grown high in the mountains far away from cities in an area of land set aside to be organic and free of all toxins. Relationship is so important to this small group of farmers so we are excited and humbled to actually meet these beautiful people who still work their land in the ancient Chinese way. Stacy McGuire has worked for our company since its very early days. He speaks fluent Chinese as he was a missionary there for ten years so he knows and loves these people and will be our interpreter.
While in China, we also have to look at and purchase some machines so we can finally make our protein bars. We are so sorry it has taken so long to bring them to you. WE have a bar that is not like anything else out there. It has no syrups so bar making factories have not been able to make it work for us cost wise or shelf life wise. Just like almost everything we have done in our company, now we are going to do this all ourselves, so we can’t wait to bring the equipment back with us and make our delicious bars right here in Tennessee and get them to you as soon as possible.
