For The Orange Layer

For The Creamy Layer

Instructions

  1. Add all the orange layer ingredients (except for the gelatin) to a blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Pour the mixture into a bowl and rinse the blender.
  3. Add all the creamy layer ingredients to the blender (except for the gelatin) and blend until smooth.

  4. Add 1/4 cup of the orange layer to a small bowl and 1/4 cup of the creamy layer to a separate small bowl. Add 2-3 Tbs. of gelatin to each bowl and mix them both well. Let them sit for a minute to bloom.
  5. Add the orange layer to a saucepan and the creamy layer to a separate saucepan. Place them on high heat and add the orange layer bloomed gelatin to the orange layer saucepan and the creamy layer bloomed gelatin to the creamy layer saucepan.

  6. Bring them to an almost boiling point while whisking well. Before they can quite reach boiling, take the mixtures off the heat.
  7. Pour a ladle of the orange mixture into a glass container, such as an 8x6 glass food storage container, and place it in the freezer for a few minutes or until the gelatin has set. Take it out of the freezer and pour a ladle of the creamy layer over the orange layer.
  8. Place in the freezer again until the gelatin has set. Repeat this layering method until all the mixture is used up. Let it set in the freezer until solid and cut into 9 pieces.
